Start creating new opportunities and STOP reinventing the wheel....
As a business owner - you often feel you need to do everything yourself.
You re-invent the wheel often.
Recently I started to communicate with my clients about Single Touch Payroll (STP) the biggest change to the tax system since GST !
I'm really excited about it - yeah I know - I'm a real numbers nerd!
I collaborated with a colleague and created a bespoke workflow, forms, instructions to clients and documents to enable BEST PRACTICE on boarding for existing and new clients to STP. Yes - to me that's sexy talk!
When we triumphantly finished - we realised - hang on - perhaps this is helpful to other BAS and Tax Agents who face the same problem.
- Managing what will be a massive workload
- On boarding lots of clients who do not use payroll software
- Taking advantage of all the prospective clients out there who will need our help to be digital by default
- Marketing to other Practices how they can outsource to us
All of a sudden we were not selling our labour - we were selling a tangible product.
Then the self doubt and the questions started - would someone actually pay for this? What was it worth?
So I stopped and I thought selfishly of myself - what would I do if I could BUY this ?
How much would I pay to NOT re invent the wheel and have these resources handed to me ?
With the internet age - everything is for sale - you can buy your way into almost anything
Why re invent the wheel ?
Instead play a smart game and use resources at your disposal so you are not re inventing the wheel.
Find your product that sets you apart and sell that!
PS I don't expect you to be as excited as I am about the product - after all - most of you do not get as excited by tax and numbers like I do - which actually keeps me in business - thanks !
