2018 - a New Year and time to re think your business

It's New Year so I am going to be blunt with you - here are 5 little ways to make instant improvements in your business

1. Let's build the right team ... ...

Get a great accountant - not a good one - a GREAT one - there is a huge difference - getting a GREAT accountant is like falling in love - you think you know what it feels like but until it happens and the ground literally shakes between your feet - you have no clue until you feel it.

A good accountant will keep you compliant - a GREAT one takes this to a whole new level of holistic business planning.
They take the numbers, they analyse them and they provide the best advice around how to leverage profits.

A good accountant lodges your tax return. A GREAT accountant coaches your numbers.

2.Let's get real about your financial tools .....
This one is easy ..

Use Xero - forget Excel - this is not an accounting package, ditch those other programs - you deserve the best in your business and Xero is it .

3. Let's be honest about your processes....

I recently packed for a vacation and out of habit, I packed my super expensive camera with all the extra lenses. I love it and it takes amazing shots.
Now normally, day to day, an I Phone would do but when I am on a special trip I always take my camera. ALWAYS
It's a habit and a choice. Yet this year I also gave myself an early Xmas present of an I Phone 10.

Ok so the camera has not yet made it out of the bag - the I Phone 10 camera has been barely out of my hands, taking the most amazing photos I can upload direct to social media (No SD Card!) . Don't believe me - check out Katrina's social media (facebook and instagram) - amazing pics right there - all on an I Phone 10 !

Just because it is what I have normally done doesn't mean I shouldn't have re thought the process.

4. Lets get Rhythym.....

Reports - you should run them - you need a goal and you need a plan but you then need to measure whether you are hitting the mark .
