Never look back
Don't regret.
When life forces you to make tough decisions - you just have to do it and not look back.
I don’t want to be Lot’s wife
Confession : I am catholic and as a result - at school - we read a lot of the bible
Lot's wife basically - she looked back - she was told not to - but she looked back and you know what - she turned into a pillar of salt.
Now - the bible is not a real physical story - a woman can’t turn into salt right ? Its basically a giant metaphor for - DONT LOOK BACK
Do not regret and always move forward.
This is the time of year we traditionally reflect on what went well and what was um err- a little regrettable. I have a few - I have to admit.
In business we need to assess - we need to make a list and check it twice
We need to not be Lot’s wife - we need to reflect and move forward - don’t look back.
That's hard
We regret
We think about what we have done
What could have been
instead we should think of what IS
I’ve made some major decisions in my business in 2017 - today as I reflect they shape what I will do next.
I gained a mentor and I walked away from that mentor - geez I wanted so much to look back. I realised I needed that Mentor to want to never look back from me - I needed me to drive that conversation and that was just not able to happen.
So I'll find another, or I'll go it alone or I'll re establish it on mutual terms.
So I gotta ask ….
What did you do well in 2017 ?
What do you regret?
What will you do in 2018 that will cause you to NEVER LOOK BACK ?
Regret is a sad word - Don’t be Lot’s wife - Never look back - move forward - even if it is bunny hops - small leaps become great bounds
